Ronald Alfaro-Redondo Ronald Alfaro-Redondo is a Costa Rican Political Scientist. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University. He is a Professor in the Political Science Department of the University of Costa Rica, a researcher at the Programa Estado de la Nacion, and the Principal researcher of the Costa Rican chapter of the Americas Barometer, Latin American Public Opinion Project. His research interests include political participation, electoral behaviour, political parties and local politics.

He holds a Diploma in Conflict resolution and a PhD in Social and Human Sciences both at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. He has worked as a journalist across Latin America.
