ECUADOR: Protests over but political tensions remain

On 15 October, the joint command of Ecuador’s armed forces announced the removal of restrictions on free movement and transit after the deal struck between President Lenín Moreno and the umbrella indigenous organisation Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador (Conaie) ended 12 days of protests and heightened unrest.
