ECUADOR: US ambassador expelled

On 5 April the Ecuadorean government declared the US ambassador, Heather Hodges, persona non grata and ordered her out of the country. Hodges is the second US ambassador to leave her post because of a host government's unhappiness at what WikiLeaks revealed was being reported back to Washington: the first was Carlos Pascual, the US ambassador to Mexico, who resigned on 19 March.
