BOLIVIA DIPLOMACY: Boosting energy ties with Russia

Bolivia’s hydrocarbons and energy minister, Luis Alberto Sánchez, in March signed a deal with Sergey Kirienko, the director general of Russian state-owned atomic energy corporation Rosatom, to construct a US$300m Nuclear Research and Technology Centre in El Alto city, La Paz department. The announcement follows a Bolivia-Russia energy summit in February, which points to burgeoning bilateral ties in the energy sector.
