EL SALVADOR: TSE ends speculation over legislative results
More than two weeks after the presidential and legislative elections on 4 February, El Salvador’s electoral authority (TSE) has finally confirmed the results for the new 60-member unicameral legislature (downsized from 84 as per electoral reforms passed last year). As expected, Nuevas Ideas (NI), the party of Nayib Bukele who won the presidential contest by a landslide [WR-23-05], has won a super majority, albeit of 54 seats, down from his initial projection of 58.
